Abdullah Khalil Alian, born in 1942, was abducted in 1981 in the occupied southern Lebanese village of Al-Bayada by collaborators and invading Zionist forces, and later taken to occupied Palestine. The International Committee of the Red Cross had visited him when he was imprisoned in south Lebanon; however, he disappeared on 20 July 1981. His whereabouts became unknown after the Zionist invasion of Lebanon, and the enemy did not acknowledge him in prisoner exchange deals with the resistance.
Abdullah Alian, a Lebanese citizen, was the father of 11 children, and worked as a farmer and taxi driver. He was arrested on several occasions by Zionist occupation forces and accused of participating in the Palestinian resistance. He was working on his land near his home when he was attacked by two occupation soldiers together with a collaborator, Qasim Alian. He was held in the Tel al-Nahas prison in south Lebanon immediately after his arrest, when the ICRC and the Alian family confirmed seeing him. In 1985, Abdullah's brother Jamal met a released prisoner named Ibrahim Yaqoub, who confirmed that he had been held with Abdullah for four days, in Al-Mushairfa prison; since that time, neither the occupation forces nor their collaborators (the former "South Lebanon Army") acknowledged the presence of Alian, including through multiple prisoner exchanges with the resistance since 1981.
