Beirut: Prisoner solidarity event on Saturday, August 29

Free Palestine Front Invites You to Attend a Gathering on Saturday, August 29

The Free Palestine Front invites you to attend a gathering it is organizing on Saturday, August 29, at the National Theater in Hamra, Beirut, at 6:00 p.m.

We seek to make this gathering the beginning of a series of activities and mobilizations aimed at shedding light on the cause of our Lebanese prisoners held in the prisons of the Zionist occupation and linking their cause with the Palestinian prisoners’ movement. This comes at a time when the issue is facing an almost complete media blackout, while official authorities continue to abandon even their most basic responsibilities toward this file. Meanwhile, the Zionist enemy is attempting to exploit the prisoners, using them as a political bargaining chip and a means of blackmailing the resistance and preventing people in southern Lebanon from approaching their lands.

The gathering will include contributions from prisoners’ families, liberated prisoners, and groups and individuals engaged with the prisoners’ cause. This will be followed by an open discussion with those in attendance, focusing on the mobilizations, activities, and practical steps we can take to support the cause of our prisoners.

There will also be an exhibition of posters and artwork highlighting the struggle of the prisoners’ movement in the enemy’s prisons. Informational materials will also be available, introducing the cause of the Lebanese prisoners held by the occupation and its historical development.

From Lebanon to Syria and Palestine, we will not abandon our prisoners.
