On May 25, 2026, Resistance and Liberation Day, the Committee of Representatives of Prisoners and Released Prisoners and the families of the prisoners and detainees organized a stand outside ESCWA in Beirut, marking the holiday as well as May 23, Lebanese Prisoners' Day, demanding action for the liberation of over 30 Lebanese prisoners held by the Zionist enemy in its dungeons.
Speakers included Zahraa Hassan Hammoud, the young daughter of prisoner Hassan Hammoud; Fatima Waddah Younes, the daughter of imprisoned Waddah Younes; MP Hussein Hajj Hassan of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc; Mohammed Qasim of the Global Gathering to Support the Resistance and Oppose Imperialism; and the spokesperson of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party.
They demanded action from the Lebanese government and presidency to free the prisoners and support the resistance in liberating the South, rather than adopting the dictates of the United States and the Zionist entity, and emphasized that the prisoners will return home.
