Yesterday, Saturday February 21, outside the ESCWA in Beirut, people gathered for a solidarity stand for the over 21 Lebanese prisoners inside the occupation jails. Organized by the Committee of Representatives of Prisoners and Released Prisoners and the families of the prisoners and detainees, speakers from a wide array of political parties and movements came together with generations of family members of those abducted, as well as Lebanese, Palestinians and internationalists calling for their immediate liberation.
Participants highlighted their pain at the forced absence of their loved ones, especially following the massacres of the prior day in the Bekaa and Ein el Helweh, where Zionist forces bombed homes and a Palestinian refugee camp, taking the lives of 14 martyrs in the Bekaa and 2 in Ein el Helweh. They demanded action from the Lebanese state to defend Lebanon and free the prisoners, and from international bodies to act to end the unjust abduction of Lebanese — and Palestinians — by the Zionist entity.
